1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow certain preferences — such as your sign-in session, the contents of your cart or the cookie choices you made — to be remembered, so your visit is smoother and safer. Cookies do not contain viruses, cannot access files on your device, and cannot run programs.
Alongside cookies, wstr.ro also uses browser localStorage (a similar technology that keeps small pieces of data in your browser). For full transparency, localStorage entries are disclosed in this policy in the same way as cookies.
2. How we use cookies
The wstr.ro website uses cookies and localStorage for:
- Signing you in and keeping your session active while you read or listen
- Remembering the items in your shopping cart between visits
- Storing the cookie consent choices you make
- Securing the payment flow against fraud (Stripe, on checkout pages only)
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics for improving the site — only with your consent, and only if such a tool is ever added
We do not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Cookie categories
3.1 Strictly necessary
Essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled: account session, cart, consent record and payment security. Without them, signing in, shopping and reading your purchased stories would not work.
3.2 Functional
Would enable optional comforts such as embedded video previews of the stories. Activated only with your consent. None are currently in use.
3.3 Statistics
Would help us understand how the site is used, exclusively in anonymous, aggregated form. Activated only with your consent. None are currently in use.
3.4 Marketing
Where Stories Take Root does not use marketing cookies, advertising profiling or commercial tracking technologies. The category appears in our settings purely for transparency and stays off.

Functional
By default, wstr.ro loads no external functional services. If embedded story previews (e.g. YouTube) are added, they will activate only after consent for the “Functional” category, and this table will be updated first.
Statistics
No analytics cookies are currently set. If a privacy-friendly analytics solution is introduced, the table will be updated before activation.
Marketing
We use no marketing cookies. This category remains permanently empty on wstr.ro.
5. Third-party services
5.1 Stripe · payment processing (strictly necessary, checkout only)
Payments on wstr.ro are processed by Stripe. When you reach the checkout, Stripe sets technical cookies (such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) strictly for payment security and fraud prevention — a legal and contractual necessity of accepting card payments. Card details are entered directly on Stripe’s secure infrastructure and never touch our servers. Details: Stripe Privacy Policy.
5.2 Google Fonts · typefaces
Our typefaces (Cormorant Garamond, Quicksand) are served via Google Fonts. Loading a font transmits your IP address to Google but sets no cookies. Details: Google Privacy Policy.
5.3 Future integrations
Should we add embedded videos (story previews), social embeds or analytics, these will be treated as functional or statistics cookies, activated only after your explicit consent, and this page will be updated beforehand.
6. Consent and withdrawal
On your first visit you are shown a cookie banner through which you can:

- Let me choose · pick each category individually, with full details
Your choice is stored for 365 days, after which you will be asked again. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time — withdrawal is as easy as giving consent — using the small round button at the bottom-left of every page.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent signing in, keeping a cart and paying. Your library of purchased stories remains safe in your account either way.
8. Your rights
Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) you have the right to withdraw or modify your consent at any time, to select each category separately, to request access, rectification or erasure of associated personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).
